client is always right
Sep 8th
Today I started working with new document layout – I had mentioned about it in the previous post. It should be quite easy task, before lunch I had almost half of the template ready. Then I’ve got a message from business guy that he’d changed some parts of the specification. Yeah, as usual
So, I haven’t had other way, just to wait for new specification. I started reading some old RSS feeds to be up-to-date as possible. After lunch I’ve got the document. There was one change – product name, but it was used in many places, so almost half of the template was changed. What else I could do? Client has always right, so I started again and adjusted template to the new specification.
It took me two hours to stick with current specification and I was able to follow with the rest of the template. I’m carious what will happen tomorrow? Another change? And they even didn’t see the draft version!
BTW, I started learning myself playing on mouth organ – at least I would play blues if I loose my job as a software developer!
the first day – once again
Sep 7th
Today was my first day at work after another short vacation
This time I had spend time clearing area around my home – to prepare it for last step before move in
Let’s back to work – today I’ve got a new task – prepare new print layout for new document and it has to be ready before end of month. Not enough time but it just has to be ready for test and rest will be polished during tests. Team mate already build small application that will be used as a front-end for the print out.
My job is to prepare a layout base on a specification. It should not be difficult but as usual business will change its mind when get some draft version. That’s why I need to do it fast – sooner it’s better – business will have more time to complain
